This Jadeite piece is from from the Motagua River valley in Guatemala. It has GREAT translucency and an undeniably Blue color. One side has been polished so you can see the quality of this piece.no fractures visible. Could cut beautifull cabuchons or a nice carving! This fine piece of jadeite could make excelent jewelry items. Mined by the local people in the ancient manner as the Mayas did centuries ago. This item is being shipped direct from our lapidary workshop and warehouse in Mexico.All the Jadeite we sell is opened with a small window or sliced on one side. This gives a clear view of the overall quality of the material. Pieces most likely to be fracture free can be easily identified while large fractures can be easily seen. This gives you a clear Idea of what you will likely run into as you cut into the jadeite. Color can vary from the outside to the inside of the stone and hidden pockets of higher quality jadeite can sometimes be hidden inside.
